2018 Call for Proposals
This summer, June 13th-15th, Counseling Center Outreachers from across the nation will gather at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon for the 11th Annual Association for University and College Counseling Center Outreach (AUCCCO) conference. The theme of this year’s conference, Community of Care, seeks to inspire and invigorate our passion towards serving students by building connections, fostering relationships with campus partners, and ultimately creating a community and culture of care. Part of building this community is connecting with and educating peers in the field. One of the best ways to accomplish this is to present at the upcoming conference!
There are three options for presenting at this conference:
1. 60-minute presentations in a traditional format.
2. 90 minute presentations in a traditional format involving multiple presenters or panel format (we anticipate having 4 slots available for the longer presentations).
3. Showcase: A creative exhibition format highlighting innovative outreach programming and the opportunity to network with outreach colleagues. Showcase presenters will each have a table to display materials and engage participants. The exhibition hall will be structured in an open format to allow participants to network, share ideas, and learn from presenters and one another. There will be no other presentations occurring at this time. All conference attendees will be invited to attend the Showcase.
We encourage conference proposals to encompass a variety and diversity of topic areas. To be on theme, think about collaborations with other departments or campus/student groups, how your programs build community, or how taking care of oneself and others is a way of creating a community of care. Possible areas include:
Audio/Video equipment provided: The host institution will provide a projector for PowerPoint presentations and can provide a laptop. Any unique A/V requests can be made with the submission of your proposal.
The deadline for proposals is February 9th, 2018. You will be notified of the status of the proposal by the week of March 5th.
Note: If your proposal is accepted, the presentation title, presenter information, and abstract you provide will be included in the conference program, so please be sure the information you submit is accurate. All accepted presenters are expected to pay full conference registration fees.
